Hi everyone,

To thank everyone for their fabulous activism so far this year, and as a fun chance to take action on Amnesty's campaign for the 3 Freedoms in Burma, we'd like to invite you to "Shine a Light for Burma" and celebrate with some creative photo action-taking and a lovely picnic down at the Matilda Bay foreshore. We'll have some pizza and as the sun goes down, we'll have sparklers and glow sticks, and use them to write words of hope for the thousands of political prisoners behind bars in Burma. We'll use slow shutter photography to capture the words, and Artillery will use the photos as part of their event promotions. So come on down, and SHINE A LIGHT FOR BURMA! It's a great chance to catch up and have some fun on a lovely Monday night :)

Details are: Monday 25 October at 6pm. We'll be playing with some sparklers and slow capture camera lenses to take some exciting creative photos to raise awareness about freedoms in Burma. Please RSVP to jill.downard@amnesty.org.au, so that I know how much food we'll require.

What is Amnesty doing with regard to Burma? As you may know, Burma is holding it's first democratic election in 20 years. Amnesty is campaigning to defend the freedoms of association, expression, and assembly in Burma, and asking that Burma release its thousands of political prisoners that are currently behind bars for their activism and opposition to the regime.
