Senator Chris Evans
Minister for Immigration and Citizenship
Canberra ACT 2600
Dear Mr Evans,
I would like to request you that could you please cancel a visa for a Burma's famous actor called Mr Khant Si Thu who will visit in Perth on Sep 13, 2010. He is going to have a Burma's cultural concert in order to make a fund rising for orphans in Burma. This concert will be on October 16 2010 at Morley Recreation Centre.
Let me introduce about him first. He is one of the Burmese military supporters. He acted as a major actor in a controversial film called Ahyoun Oo Mar Phu Thit Kyar, a propaganda film to support the 2010 election in Burma. As you may know this election is just for Burmese generals, not for people in Burma. They want to have power all the time.
Mr Khant Si Thu is a supporter for the Military government. I think he is one of the relatives of Burmese generals. He will come to Perth, Australia to make a lobby for a support of Burmese generals in the Burmese Community in Perth.
All Burmese political activists around the world are opposing against all actors and actress who were involved in this film. For example, the Burmese community in UK and US had many protests for these actors and actress. You can ask any Burmese about this case.
Australia has a sanction for Burmese generals and their relatives in order not to deal with them. But, sadly you and your department allowed this Burmese actor, Mr Khan Si Thu to visit in Perth. He came here just for shopping not for a concert. He already said his intention about why he wants to visit in Perth with a Burmese journal in Burma. This is not good.
I strongly request you that please cancel his visa to visit in Perth as well as all other actors and actress involved with this film. Please see attachment for an advertisement of this concert in details as well as his photo.
I look forward to hear your decision for the Burmese people in Burma and around the world.
